Every year, hundreds of unexploded devices are detected in the waters of Hungary, requiring participants to have a high level of professional expertise.
Unexploded ordnances clearance in water-covered areas involves the detection, unequivocal identification, and removal or on-site destruction of embedded unexploded devices such as bombs, ammunition, rockets, grenades, mines, etc., located in the bed and substrate of the water body, in accordance with authorized organizational procedures
Sonic and magnetometer examination
The clearance task can only be performed safely with the combined use of sonar and magnetometer examination, as well as reconnaissance and recovery dives. The topography of the riverbed can be determined by sonar reconnaissance, while the presence of magnetizable materials (presumed unexploded devices) in the riverbed can be detected through magnetometer examination. Diving operations ensure the unequivocal identification and removal of detected objects.
